The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is a 1993 action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy.It is the fourth installment in the Legend of Zelda series and the first for a handheld game console. Link’s latest challenge is set on the mysterious Koholint, a place where dreams and reality collide. As a castaway, Link must find a way to escape from the island and return to his beloved homeland of Hyrule. This will not be an easy task. The island’s inhabitants have no knowledge of the outside world.

GUI mode
Play a specified ROM file in GUI mode:
Set up a Cloud Gaming server
You can use
Gameboy.Live
as a 'Cloud Gaming' server, where players use telnet to play Gameboy games in terminal without additional software installation required. (Except telnet itself xD)A
gamelist.json
config file is required to specify game options. This is a typical example:It is recommended to test every ROM before putting them in the config file.
Next, start a
Gameboy.Live
server with the config file from the previous step:You will see an output like this, which means your server has started successfully:
Now, you can play games anywhere you want! The simulation and rendering process is done entirely on the server.
'Cloud Gaming' is only supported in terminals which support standard ANSI and the UTF-8 charset. You can use
WSL

:The emulator will firstly break at the ROM entry point
0x0100

Gameboy / GB Information
In the world of portable consoles Gameboy by Nintendo is a super survivor. Firstly released in 1989, Game Boy rapidly progressed to success, eclipsing the popularity of competitors and even colorful Sega Game Gear. Gameboy is known as portable console, which is not entirely accurate, since it doesn’t require connection to a TV to work, but this emphasized a respectful attitude towards GB, directly putting it on a par with the most popular in those years, 8-bit console from Dendy. By the way, it is actually possible to connect Game Boy to a TV, using the adapter “Super Game Boy” and the console Super Nintendo. If you do that, black-and-white Gameboy’s games will grain colors!

In subsequent years, Gameboy had to compete with Sega, Atari and other portable systems, and each time Gameboy have been a leader, despite the color screens and vivid graphics of other games. And now the toy from Nintendo has only a single competitor – Game com released by Tiger in 1997. Since 32-bit and 64-bit systems don’t surprise anyone anymore, 8-bit Gameboy may look like an outdated device, yet it still prevails on the market.
